Hi there,
I'm looking to pursue training in massage therapy and am interested in hearing from more experienced folks about good programs in the SF Bay area. I currently live in Marin county and am so far trying to decide between Alive & Well (Institute of Conscious Bodywork) and Diamond Light School of Healing and Massage, which are both located in Marin county.
Any thoughts about either of these two programs would be most appreciated...I'm also open to commuting to other programs in the Bay Area.
Many thanks!

After looking at the schools you mentioned; I'm not too impressed. Maybe they'll work for you but they seem to be a bit thin on substance. Though California (my home state) is a bit lax on the amount of hours needed. Most of the meat comes from continuing education classes.
The "extras" for Alive and Well sound like a scam. They offer Free text books and table; many schools do, but they're honest enough to say that it comes with your tuition. And the ABMP membership; also taken from your tuition, for 12 months would cost you $65 (student rate) and comes with liability insurance and a subscription to Massage & Bodywork.
Do you know how much they're asking for the classes? I'm curious.
